So, música i física quàntica
Tuesday, 2 April 2024 19:00
Orfeó's Rehearsal HallPalau de la Música Catalana
Conference by Elisenda Fábregas
Lecture by Elisenda Fábregas about the close connection between the physical properties of sound (and music) and the emotional and intellectual effect they produce in people. This connection, known intuitively in Antiquity (Greece, China, India...) is corroborated by science (quantum physics, cymatic science...). "Everything the world is vibration", said Einstein. Also the human body, largely made of water, whose molecules vibrate and produce geometric shapes that affect us.
Elisenda Fábregas is a guest composer of the 2024-24 season at the Palau de la Música Catalana. -

A. SCHÖNBERG: The transfigured night, op.4
E. BLOCH: Three nocturnesThe program La Nit (The Night) created by Trio Fortuny (Bardolet - Codina - Heredia) with the collaboration of the dance company Mal Pelo, revolves around the night as a central theme and includes the arrangement for trio with piano made by Eduard Steuermann from Schönberg's Transfigured Night and works by lesser-known composers such as the Swiss-American Ernest Bloch or the French Mel Bonis. Fortuny Trio also leaves room for local new creation, including Joan Magrané's Trois Nocturnes, a piece dedicated to them. Mal Pelo's collaboration with Trio Fortuny stems from the musicians' deep conviction that movement and space are part of the artistic experience, which is shared with the audience, going beyond genres. Specially in this case, we find in Joel Bardolet the connecting link, given that he has collaborated with the prestigious Catalan dance company for more than 10 years.

Orfeó's Rehearsal HallPalau de la Música Catalana
Lluís Calvo, Jaume Coll Mariné, Carles Dachs, Laia llobera and Susanna Rafart
Catalan modernist poetry is part of a tradition often forgotten. The monumentality of its architecture praised around the world contrasts with a literature that has been little vindicated. The Orfeó Català Essay Room, where the first stone of the Palau de la Música Catalana rests, will be the oracle that will make us invoke the voices of Joan Maragall, Jeroni Zanné, Alexandre de Riquer, Apel·les Mestres, Joan Alcover, among others. Poets that connect with other current poets that will recover the thread that connects the word and nature. Recite poems Lluís Calvo, Jaume Coll Mariné, Carles Dachs, Laia Llobera and Susanna Rafart.
Public will receive an artisanal book point commemorating the activity. -

An ephemeral spring piece
Lluís Soler, actor
Laia Llobera, poet
Anna Griera Parra, Catalan sign language interpreter (Associació Sòcio-cultural ENCANTADES)Poema del bosc by Alexandre de Riquer is one of the most important modernist poems in our literature. An epic song in nature, which emerges as a space of transcendence, a paradisiacal temple in which we find birds, flowers, trees and waterfalls that come to life, as well as fairies, druids, nymphs, witches, elves and goges. Lluís Soler will recite a selection of his verses, chosen by the poet Laia Llobera, on the same stage of the Palau de la Música Catalana. Modernist temple that will be a pantheistic oracle of a poem that reaches us as an ecological allegation ahead of the lettre where nature is dreamlike but also rebellious.
The morning session (12h) incorporates Catalan sign language translation for people with hearing diversity by the Associació Sòcio-cultural ENCANTADES. -

extraordinary concert
Wednesday, 12 June 2024 21:00
Petit PalauPalau de la Música Catalana
Pascal Comelade, pianos and conductor
Phil Argeles, Alban Barate and Ivan Telefunken Martinez, pianosUnique and exceptional concert by Pascal Comelade within the framework of his friend Miquel Barceló's exhibition in La Pedrera.
For the first time in Barcelona, the musician will present this format designed for four pianos and where he revisits his repertoire. Increasingly distant from the stage, Comelade is considered one of the most unique and creative musicians and composers, with an eclectic and unclassifiable style, and with music that stands out for its marked playful and experimental character.
The concert ticket includes entry to the La Pedrera exhibition “BARCELÓ. CERAMICS: We are all Greeks.” More information in this link. -

Night visit with Anna Dot
By day, we can clearly see how the Palau de la Música Catalana is a garden full of vegetation. Beautiful flowers and leaves cover the floor, snail down the columns and climb up the walls. However, the fauna that inhabits it hides from our eyes and does not let itself be heard until sunset. In this night visit to the modernist enclosure by the artist Anna Dot, without the light of the sun and under the night, the ear is sharpened and we can listen to the animals, the flora, the winds and the small torrents that are heading towards the sea. With a little luck we will be able to listen to them and they will explain to us the legend of the papagay of Apel·les Mestres that, sometimes, can be seen in the Palau.
